Tsuge Ikebana

Tsuge Ikebana Handmade Pipes

The history of Tsuge began in 1936. Company founder Kyoichiro Tsuge initially produced cigarette holders made from ivory, laying the foundation for a brand that is now appreciated worldwide. After the Second World War, pipe smoking gained strong popularity in Japan through the influence of American soldiers. Tsuge responded to this development and added pipes to his range of tobacco accessories.

In the 1970s, the company sent some of its most talented craftsmen to Denmark. There, in the workshops of Sixten Ivarsson and Jørgen Larsen, they learned the art of freehand pipe making. This knowledge continues to shape the brand to this day. The combination of Japanese precision and Scandinavian design language made Tsuge Ikebana pipes internationally known.

Since the 1980s, handmade Ikebana pipes have also been successfully offered outside Japan. Among collectors they enjoy an excellent reputation. Due to the elaborate craftsmanship and limited production numbers, these pipes are rare and correspondingly sought after. Particularly exceptional pieces achieve high prices among collectors.

In addition to the exclusive freehand models, Tsuge also produces series pipes that offer a very good price-performance ratio. This allows both experienced pipe smokers and price-conscious enthusiasts to find suitable models.
