Dannemann: Tradition and Quality

The roots trace back to Geraldo Dannemann. As a young man, he traveled from Bremen to Brazil. Even in the Hanseatic city, he had come into contact with cigars and decided to turn his passion into a profession. Whether it was the tobacco or the climate that drew him abroad remains a matter of speculation. In any case, he chose the Mata Fina region, known for its premium tobaccos.

Quality from a Single Source

He quickly built strong connections with local farmers and started growing his own tobacco. This principle of ensuring top quality through a closed production process is still followed by Dannemann today under the motto "from seed to smoke".

Versatile Enjoyment: Dannemann Cigarillos

Thanks to his success, Geraldo Dannemann even became the mayor of his new hometown. The former immigrant was among the most influential figures in Bahia.

Dannemann Today

After his death in 1921, the company faced difficulties due to trade restrictions. It wasn't until after World War II that it was able to regain its footing.

Today, Dannemann is headquartered in Lübbecke. Although no longer family-owned, the company remains committed to its values. Transparency and responsibility towards nature and people in the growing regions remain a priority.

Treffurt Collection

The Treffurt Collection carries a piece of German-German history. Its retro design is reminiscent of DEFA films. The brands Diplomat, Gold, and Sprachlos originated in the GDR and were produced in Treffurt and Dingelstädt in Thuringia.

After reunification, they passed into private hands. Dannemann acquired the rights and the production site in Treffurt, preserving the East German identity of these cigarillos.
