The reason: A cognac is offered under the name Diplomatico at Aldi — you read that right! Although there is nothing wrong with the discounter’s brandy, Ron Botucal plays in an entirely different league. Moreover, rum is a sugarcane-based product, not a grape-based spirit. For this reason, it was decided to market the rum in Germany under the name of the distillery Botucal.
This name change did not affect the quality: Ron Botucal continues to represent a premium spirit and maintains the tradition of Venezuelan rum production. Venezuela's climatic conditions and the expertise of the master distillers result in elegant, complex rums. After distillation in copper pot stills, the rum matures to perfection in former bourbon or Scotch whisky barrels.

- 6 cl Botucal Planas Rum
- 3 cl Lime Juice
- 2 cl Sugar Syrup

Botucal Cigars – The Perfect Match for Rum
The Botucal Cigars have been crafted by Mombacho in Nicaragua since 2006. To celebrate the brand's 15th anniversary, a special series was created, perfectly matched to Botucal Rum. The tobacco blend consists of a Sungrown wrapper from Ecuador, a binder from Jalapa, Nicaragua, and filler tobaccos from Jalapa, Estelí, and Condega.
