E.P. Carrillo: The Master of Boutique Cigars
Behind the brand is Ernesto Perez-Carrillo, also known as "Ernie" or simply EPC. With the nickname "Godfather of Boutique Cigars," he enjoys a special reputation in the cigar world. Born in 1951 in Cuba, his passion for tobacco was practically inherited.
His roots lie in the Pinar del Río growing region, where his family has been cultivating tobacco since 1907. Even after emigrating to the USA, Ernesto remained true to his passion.
Cigars from the Dominican Republic: An Overview of EPC
In the USA, Ernesto continued the La Gloria Cubana cigar label, which originally came from Cuba. The cigars were produced at the El Credito factory in Miami. At the end of the 1990s, he sold the business but remained committed to cigar production. In 2009, he finally founded the E.P. Carrillo brand, supported by his son and daughter.
In his Tabacalera La Alianza in the Dominican Republic, new creations continue to emerge under the EPC Cigars Co. label.
EPC Cigars: Variety and Awards
EPC stands for high-quality boutique cigars that impress with creativity and variety. For example, the INCH cigars impress with their large ring gauges, while the artistically designed cigar bands of La Historia attract attention. The Encore is made exclusively from Nicaraguan tobacco and impresses with complex aromas. A bit milder is the New Wave Connecticut, which is also popular among fans of stronger cigars.
Exceptional variety characterizes the origin of the tobaccos. They range from the Dominican Republic to Mexico and the USA, where the wrapper of the Pledge comes from. The combination of tobaccos from various origins impresses with top ratings and numerous awards.
