"Dos Maderas" means "Two Woods" in English. This name also explains the unique aging method of this rum: its complex aromatic diversity is the result of a double maturation process in different types of wooden barrels.
Dos Maderas Rum: Caribbean Origins Meet Spanish Aging
Its origins lie in the Caribbean, specifically on Barbados or in Guyana. There, the rum is aged for several years before making its way to Europe. The second aging phase takes place at the historic Williams & Humbert bodega in Jerez de la Frontera in southern Spain.
Founded in the 19th century by British entrepreneurs, the bodega is renowned for its production of brandy and sherry. Today, gin and rum have also become part of its portfolio.
Aged in Sherry Casks: Dos Maderas from Spain
In the bodega’s former sherry casks, Dos Maderas reaches its final maturity and develops its distinctive flavor profile. One highlight is the Dos Maderas Rum Luxus – a spirit distinguished by its extensive aging process.
The first phase consists of ten years of aging under the Caribbean sun. This is followed by another five years of maturation in Andalusia. The result is a naturally sweet rum with a well-balanced character – perfect for connoisseurs who value tradition and quality.
