Dona Flor Cigars: Expertise and Optimal Conditions
Behind this brand stand two experts who are well-versed in the cigar world: Arturo Turaño and Felix Menendez. As experienced master blenders and cigar manufacturers, they shape Dona Flor. Their cigars come from the region around All Saints’ Bay in the Brazilian state of Bahia—an area known for its particularly fertile soil and optimal climatic conditions. Regular rainfall, nutrient-rich soil, and an average temperature of a pleasant 25 degrees create the perfect environment for high-quality tobacco.
An Overview of Dona Flor Cigars
Dona Flor impresses with outstanding quality. The Mata Fina Series relies on the namesake wrapper—one of Brazil's finest and most valuable tobaccos. This is complemented by carefully selected Mata Norte, resulting in a cigar that captivates with earthy aromas and notes of forest floor, hay, and moss.
In the past, Dona Flor offered additional series that are no longer available. Particularly aromatic was the variant with a Connecticut wrapper, distinguished by bold, woody flavors with fine nutty and leathery notes.

For a quick indulgence, Dona Flor also offered cigarillos—perfect for a short break or as an introduction for enthusiasts looking to ease into cigars.
