Cornelius & Anthony Cigars – Classics with a Modern Touch
If there were an award for the most innovative cigar brand, Cornelius & Anthony would undoubtedly be a strong contender. This American company not only offers premium cigars with a contemporary appearance but also boasts a long tradition in tobacco craftsmanship. And the fact that you can purchase these cigars exclusively from us in Germany makes us especially proud.
While the brand has only existed since the 1990s, its roots go much further back. As early as the early 19th century, tobacco was cultivated in Virginia, and the Bailey family has been verifiably involved in the industry since the 1860s. The name Cornelius traces back to the first known member of the family in the tobacco business.
Longfiller Cigars from Cornelius & Anthony
The second part of the brand’s name comes from its current owner, Stephen Anthony Bailey. Initially, he focused on high-quality cigars made from his own tobacco crops, a venture that proved highly successful in the United States.
Today, longfillers from Latin America also play a significant role. Originally produced at the PDR factory by Abe Flores—where brands such as Gurkha, Flores y Rodriguez, Kristoff, and La Palina are also made—the production now takes place at Tabacalera La Zona by Eddie Espinosa in Nicaragua. This is where the series available from us are crafted.
The Complete Cornelius & Anthony Range
The Meridian impresses with a woody-spicy character and a creamy spice. Beneath its Ecuadorian wrapper lies a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.
The Daddy Mac, which Stephen created in honor of his father, offers a slightly sweet note, thanks to its Brazilian wrapper. The newest and boldest series is the Venganza, which means “revenge” in Spanish. Its robust flavor comes from a combination of Nicaraguan filler and binder, topped with an Ecuadorian wrapper.
