Cigarkings Cigars: A Successful Entry into the Industry
The journey of Cigarkings began with an idea by Philipp Kugler, who initially had no connection to the world of cigars. As an aspiring communication designer, he developed the brand identity of a then-fictional cigar label as part of a university project. What started as a theoretical exercise quickly turned into a passion for cigars and their production.
Philipp Kugler: The Mind Behind Cigarkings
From theory to practice: Since 2016, Cigarkings has been firmly established in the market. The journey was not easy—numerous visits to specialist retailers and events helped to make the brand known. A significant breakthrough came when Kugler managed to sell his first 800 cigars of the now-discontinued Schöne Robusto series in a single day at a specialty store in Munich. This experience encouraged him to further expand the Cigarkings brand.
Today, Cigarkings is a firmly established market player, attracting attention with new releases. The cigars are produced in a small factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. The exact origin remains a well-kept secret.
Regional Responsibility
Kugler places great importance on regional responsibility. While the tobacco comes from Nicaragua, the packaging is manufactured in Bavaria. The cigar boxes are made exclusively from wood sourced from sustainable Bavarian forestry, emphasizing the company's commitment to sustainability.
The Cigarkings Product Range
Cigarkings offers a diverse selection of cigars. In addition to the popular Sun Grown and Maduro varieties, there are also exclusive Editions and various Samplers. The Nicaraguan fillers and Ecuadorian wrappers are particularly appreciated.
Thanks to the deliberate omission of Ligero tobacco, the Sun Grown and Maduro series offer a pleasant, balanced strength.
Traditional Rolling Technique
Cigarkings relies on the traditional Cuban rolling technique known as “Entubado.” This method creates eight separate smoke channels, ensuring an even draw and slow burn, allowing the flavors to fully develop.
