Centaur Cigars: Heroic and Mythological
The brand delves deep into the treasure chest of Greek mythology. Tobias Forst, the brand's chief, is a great admirer of ancient hero tales, which is reflected in both the label's name and the individual cigar formats.
Centaurs are hybrid creatures, part human and part horse. Typically, they are depicted with a human upper body and head, while the lower body and limbs resemble those of a horse. These fascinating mythical beings, however, are not known for their charm. Instead, they are considered untamed, fond of drink, and highly passionate.
These traits may stem from their lineage. Centaurs trace their origins to the Lapith king Ixion, who was notorious for his disrespectful behavior. Legend has it that he pushed his future father-in-law into a pit of burning coals to avoid paying the dowry. In Olympus, he even harassed Hera, the wife of Zeus, incurring further wrath.
Cigars Inspired by Greek Legends
An exception among the centaurs is Chiron, who did not descend from Ixion but from the god Kronos. Kronos is also the progenitor of Zeus and other gods such as Poseidon, Hades, and Demeter. Chiron was a wise teacher who tutored heroes like Achilles and Odysseus.
Mythical Cigars: Centaur Hero Series
At Centaur Cigars, Chiron is honored with his own Toro. Other vitolas are named after legendary figures, with each blend reflecting the character of the figures. A fantastic way to engage with ancient myths—or simply relax and enjoy.
The cigars are produced in the Tabacalera of Henrik Kelner Jr. in Santiago de los Caballeros. His father is an icon at Davidoff. Henrik Kelner Jr. has also made a name for himself through his work with Casdagli (formerly Bespoke Cigars), Principle Cigars, and his own brand Smoking Jacket.
