Casdagli – Cigars

Casdagli boasts a remarkable history that began with the Greek merchant family Casdagli. This heritage is reflected in cigar lines such as the Club Mareva, produced at the Tabacalera KBF under the direction of Hendrik Kelner Jr. Under the leadership of Jeremy Casdagli, the brand expanded its portfolio to Costa Rica, where the Daughters of the Wind were created in collaboration with Olman Guzman. Casdagli Cigars: Tradition and Partnerships in the Dominican Republic

Some may still remember: Casdagli Cigars were originally known under the name Bespoke. This term means "custom-made" and highlights the high quality standards the brand sets for its products. However, due to trademark requirements, the brand was renamed and now carries the family name of its owner.

The Casdagli Heritage

Jeremy Nicholas Casdagli, the founder of the brand, comes from a Greek merchant family whose roots date back to the 19th century in the Ottoman Empire.

The Casdagli family later established themselves in Alexandria as respected cotton merchants, exporting primarily to England, which was then the center of the European textile industry. The family also gained valuable experience in trading luxury goods, such as Arabian horses.

Tailor-Made Cigars from the Dominican Republic

After a phase focused on Cuban cigars, Casdagli shifted its attention to production in the Dominican Republic. Here, they partnered with a well-known name: Hendrik Kelner Jr., whose father, Hendrik Kelner Sr., achieved worldwide fame as a master blender for Davidoff. Casdagli's first series, the Traditional, was launched in 2013 at the Tabacalera KBF (Kelner Boutique Factory). The brand chose the Colossus of Rhodes, an ancient landmark, as its symbol to emphasize the historical strength of the merchant dynasty.

Other series followed, such as Club Mareva and Basilica, the latter being particularly tailored to the tastes of the oriental market. The Cabinet Selection series, available in a 50-cigar cabinet box, is also produced in the Dominican Republic.

From Alexandria to Costa Rica

In Costa Rica, the Daughters of the Wind series was created. Originally developed for the U.S. market, these cigars have also gained great popularity here. In the Puriscal region near the capital San José, another collaboration between Jeremy Casdagli and Olman Guzman emerged.
