For us in Düsseldorf, it’s only a short hop to our neighboring city of Wuppertal. This historic industrial city in the Bergisches Land is the birthplace of Oskar Nausch. Many years ago, however, he was drawn to the Dominican Republic. Whether it was Wuppertal’s famously rainy weather or his sense of adventure that lured him to the Caribbean remains his secret.
Don Esteban – A Successful Brand with Character
In Santiago de los Caballeros, the second-largest city in the Dominican Republic, Oskar runs the Tabacalera "Don Esteban." Here, where the rain is pleasantly warm, exceptional cigars are crafted under his leadership, captivating enthusiasts around the globe.
Our collaboration with Oskar and his team has now lasted for almost 20 years. This close partnership and shared vision have been instrumental in establishing the Samana brand.
