“First Learn, Then Master, and Finally Improve” – that’s how company founder Eduardo Fernandez Pujals describes his path to success. The perseverance with which Eduardo pursues his goals forms the foundation of his work in the tobacco industry.
Aganorsa Leaf: Cigars With an Unusual Beginning
A native Cuban, Eduardo has known the world of cigars from an early age. Still, his career begins far from it: After earning a degree in economics in the U.S., he works as a banker and gains financial independence by founding Telepizza in Spain.

In 1997, his path leads him to Nicaragua, where he takes over a tobacco farm and reorganizes it with great dedication. His goal is not just economic success – Eduardo aims to produce tobacco of the highest caliber.
Expertise From Cuba
Eduardo’s role model is the fine tobacco of his homeland. To achieve that level of quality, he brings in experts from Cuba who contribute decades of experience in cultivation.
The acquisition of Tabacalera Tabacos Valle de Jalapa in 2002 marks the beginning of cigar production. On board is Arsenio Ramos, a respected tobacco expert from Pinar del Río. Ramos not only brings deep knowledge of fermentation and blending, but also leaves a lasting mark on Aganorsa Leaf. Following his death in 2018, the mild to medium-bodied Aganorsa Leaf Arsenio honors his legacy.
Own Tobacco – Full Control
Over the years, Aganorsa Leaf has received numerous awards. Cigar connoisseurs appreciate the brand because every production step is handled in-house – from planting to aging to the finished product. Today, Eduardo’s son Max is also part of the company’s leadership. Together with an experienced team, he ensures premium cigars with a personal signature.
Aganorsa Leaf Cigars in Germany
It wasn’t until 2023 that the cigars became available in Germany through the importer Kopp Tobaccos. This expansion brings an entire range of high-quality formats to the German market – a welcome addition.

Among the well-known lines is the Signature Selection – a bold, multi-layered Nicaraguan puro. Just as distinctive is the Rare Leaf Reserve with its deep aroma. For a milder experience, there's the La Validation Connecticut, whose light wrapper delivers balanced harmony.
